Event Highlight ǀ New CUHK Beijing Centre to establish Beijing-Hong Kong exchange platform and deepen academia-industry collaboration (28 June 2023)
The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) celebrated its 60th anniversary by holding the inauguration ceremony for its Beijing Centre in Dongcheng District, Beijing on June 28. The event marked CUHK’s achievements over the past 60 years and represented an important milestone in its network of collaborations in the mainland. The ceremony was attended by representatives from government, industry, academia and alumni from Beijing and Hong Kong.
During the ceremony, two Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) were signed. The first MoU, signed with the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Talent, aims to promote cooperation projects between CUHK and Beijing’s universities, research institutes, enterprises, and other institutions. The second MoU, signed with The National (Zhongguancun) Torch Institute of Science and Technology, focuses on promoting the transfer and transformation of scientific and technological achievements between the two regions.
The Beijing Centre, in collaboration with HICOOL Business School, serves as CUHK’s liaison hub in Beijing. It provides support for education and research development, academic exchange, and cooperation with mainland universities. The Centre also hosts forums, seminars, and academic activities to foster scientific research cooperation and deepen partnerships between industry, universities, and research institutions. Beijing is establishing a high-standard talent hub, CUHK will be actively participating in it. Additionally, it serves as a venue for CUHK alumni from the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region to connect and strengthen alumni networks.
