In the meeting of Hostel Allocation Examination Group under the Committee on Student Hostels held on 1 June 2023, the Committee approved the list of successful applicants (current students) for the coming academic year. Result notification will be sent to CU student email address of individual applicants.  A total of 1,283 applications have been received from current students. The cut-off hostel scores for successful male and female applicants are 37 and 34 respectively. Applicants should note the following:

(1)   The cut-off hostel scores consisted of applicants’ residential situation and extra-curricular activities. The load of schoolwork is not a selection criterion. Unsuccessful applicants who wish to appeal should submit written appeal to the Dean of Students’ Office on or before June 20, 2023. Applicants should state the situation in details with supporting documents (e.g. health or family problems) for the consideration of the Committee on Student Hostels.

(2)   Those successful applicants who would like to decline the hostel place offer should inform the College on or before June 30, 2023, so that the captioned hostel place could be allocated to other students on the waiting list.

(3)   Applicants who have not been allocated a place will be waitlisted according to their scores and allocated a place should hostel places become available because of decline of offer or withdrawal from hostel.

(4)   Trading hostel place for benefits (e.g. monetary rewards) is prohibited. All parties to the trade will be referred to the Disciplinary Committee.
