P rotest M eeting On Campus Some four thousand students o f the University le ft their classrooms and gathered at the University Square on 2n(i December, 1988 to express their concern on the recommendations o f the Education Commission Report Number Three. In addition to students and teachers o f the University, other participants included representatives from other post-secondary institutions and from the Hong Kong Professional Teachers' Union. Some twenty speakers denounced what they called Govern ment intervention in the University's educational system, and supported the University's stand to up hold its four-year system. Students representatives later went to the Government House after the meeting to present their petitions against the Education Commission Report.
