MBA Programmes News Students to Learn from Cream of the Crop The new class of MBA students at the Un i v e r s i ty w i l l be l ea r n i ng their ropes first-hand from Star A l umni — some of the mo v e rs a nd shake rs of t he bus i ness c ommun i t y, under a special mentorship programme. Thirty-two business leaders, all a l umni of the Un i ve r s i t y 's M B A and EMBA P r og r ammes o c c u p y i ng the t op echelons of management i n the public and p r i v a te sectors, have c omm i t t ed to be mentors of the MBA students. The survey o n ly covers business schools that have a full-time MBA programme. • The E M BA P r o g r amme has, f or the third year i n a row, emerged as the top- ranking non-partnership programme i n A s i a a nd a m o n g t he t o p 20 s u ch programmes wo r l dw i d e, i n the latest global survey conducted by London- based Financial Times. Over 80 business schools p a r t i c i p a t ed i n t h is s u r v ey w h i c h i n c l u d e d b o t h g l o b a l a n d partnership programmes. The University's EMBA Programme distinguished itself i n the survey not only as a uniquely Hong Kong programme but also as one of only t wo business schools i n the top 20 adopting two languages as the media of instruction. It scored high i n areas such as salary increase, w o r k experience, international students, and percentage of women students. College News Chung Chi's 52nd Anniversary To celebrate its 52nd anniversary this year, Ch u ng Chi College and its student u n i on organized a series of celebratory p r og r ammes i n October, c u l m i na t i ng i n the Founders' Day Thanksgiving Service on 31st October 2003. Th i s yea r, a p a rt f r om t r a d i t i o n al celebrations such as the Founders' Day S t udent Fes t i val a nd the Feast-for-a- Thou s and, there was an i n a u g u r a t i on ceremony for the couplet gracing the original Chung Chi gate and the unveiling ceremony of the college's Golden Jubilee sculpture. B o t h f u n c t i o ns we r e h e l d o n t he c o l l ege 's F o u n d e r s' Da y, w i t h v i c e- chancellor Prof. Ambrose King, Mr. Ka rl Kw o k , chairman of the college boa rd of trustees, and Prof. Rance Lee, head of the college, officiating at the ceremonies. New Asia's Activities Happy Run Over 460 alumni, staff, and students of N ew Asia College took part i n the Ha p py Run on 11th October to celebrate the 54th a n n i v e r s a r y of t h e i r c o l l e g e. A l l pa r t i c i pan ts comp l e t ed the 7.5 k m r u n f r om the New Asia concourse to the Prince of Wales Hospital.
