C . T . Yu n g 's on his being conferred the title of O . B . E. M r . R . N. Rayne, the Vice- President, and M r . C . K . Tse, the Registrar, congratulated D r . Y u n g, and presented h i m w i t h a gift to mark the happy occasion. D r . Y u n g expressed his thanks and attributed his success to the cooperation and assistance of his College Staff. • A t the invitation of U n i t ed College, the H o n. W i l f r ed S i e n - B i ng Wo n g, D e p u ty President and Chairman of the B r i t i sh Red Cross Society, H o n g K o n g Branch, gave an encouraging talk on " R e d Cross and B l o od D o n a t i o n" to the College students and staff in the College H a l l on No v emb er 22, 1965. T h e H o n. W o n g traced the history of the British Red Cross Society and its relationships w i th the International Red Cross Society, w i t h particular emphasis on the significance of blood donation. He pointed out that donation of a small amount of blood had no ill effects on the normal, healthy donor and described the popular dread of b l o o d - g i v i ng as unfounded. H i s talk ended w i t h an appeal for blood donation, to w h i ch the audience gave an enthusiastic response. C H R I S T M A S P A R T Y T h e Central Office, the School of Education, the De p a r t me nt of E x t r a - mu r al Studies, the Central L i b r a r y, the Mass Commu n i c a t i on Centre and the Economic Research Centre held a j o i nt Christmas party o n December 24, in the Conference R o om of the Un i v e r s i t y.
