Prof. HO Tsung-Yi, had been elected Fellows of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in the class of 2024, for his research contributions to design automation and test of microfluidic biochips. Prof. Ho’s research interests include several areas of computing and emerging technologies, especially in design automation of microfluidic biochips. Besides, Prof. Ho had been served as an ACM Distinguished Speaker for 2014-2020, a Distinguished Visitor of the IEEE Computer Society for 2013-2015, a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society for 2016-2017, and an ACM Distinguished Member since 2019.
Prof. TAO Yufei has been elected as an IEEE Fellow in the class of 2024, recognizing his research contributions to large-scale data processing. Prof. Tao’s research focuses on the development of “small-and-sweet” algorithms that are both easily implementable for practical use (small) and provide non-trivial theoretical guarantees (sweet). He finds great satisfaction in addressing challenges that emerge at the intersection of databases, machine learning, and theoretical computer science. It is worth noting that Prof. Tao was also elected as an ACM Fellow in 2020.
IEEE is the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity. IEEE and its members inspire a global community through its highly cited publications, conferences, technology standards, and professional and educational activities. There are over 427,000 members in more than 190 countries. The highest grade of membership, IEEE Fellow, is attained through nomination by peers and approval by the IEEE Board of Directors for distinction in the profession.
