Biography

Dr. Shi QIU is a Research Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Dr. Qiu’s main research interests are in 3D computer vision, computer graphics, and virtual/augmented reality, where he has authored a few papers in top journals/conferences including IEEE T-PAMI, CVPR, ICCV, etc. Dr. Qiu is also affiliated with CUHK’s Institute of Medical Intelligence and XR, focusing on the R&D of Medical XR systems. Before joining CUHK, Dr. Qiu received his Ph.D. degree of Engineering and Computer Science from ANU in 2023, M.Sc. degrees (with distinction) of Digital Media Technology from KTH and UCL in 2017, and B.Eng. degree of Electronic and Information Engineering from Dalian University of Technology in 2015. Dr. Qiu also holds working experience for industrial organizations such as CSIRO, Tencent, Vivo, etc.
