"Smart Elderly" TV Series Promoting Positive Ageing
To promote positive ageing and raise public awareness of various ageing-related issues, The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust has sponsored Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) to join hands with CADENZA and CUHK Jockey Club Institute of Ageing to produce a 10-episode TV series entitled "Smart Elderly". The first episode was broadcasted on TVB Jade at 7:00 pm on 30 June 2015.
Each episode of "Smart Elderly" documented a particular issue facing the elderly and through interviews and interactive games with seniors, solutions and positive messages to help arouse public awareness and more sympathetic support were delivered.
Topics covered include financial arrangements; manpower issues in elderly care sector; care for elderly with dementia; home design and product design for elderly; seniors living alone; post-retirement work and life; relationship of elderly with family members and with spouse. Five key episodes were broadcasted on TVB Jade at 7:00 pm every Tuesday starting from 30 June, while an one-hour programme was broadcasted on digital terrestrial RTHK Channel 31 at 8:30 pm for 10 weeks starting from August 12.
Brain Health Public Education Campaign (2012-2013)
To promote dementia prevention, CADENZA co-organised with the Jockey Club Centre for Positive Ageing for a range of activities including school talks, game design workshops, game design competition and brain health fun day for teenagers and children.
CADENZA Chronic Disease TV Series (2012)
CADENZA has jointly produced with TVB a 10-episode TV series about elderly chronic diseases, which included diabetes, Stroke, Dementia and Parkinson’s Disease etc.
CADENZA Chronic Disease TV Series
To enhance the public awareness and understanding of chronic diseases and to empower the elderly and their family carers in self-care, CADENZA has commissioned TVB to launch a 1-minute TV series of 10 episodes on chronic illness. The 10 episodes highlighted the importance of prevention and the impact of the diseases, covering the topics on falls, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Congestive Heart Failure, Diabetes, Stroke, Dementia, Parkinson's disease and acute confusion as well as end-of-life care issues.

Co-organised with Radio Television Hong Kong Radio 5, the CADENZA 18-District Programme highlighted the topics pertaining to positive ageing to residents of Hong Kong's 18 districts with regard to specific local characteristics.
CADENZA 18-District Programme
The CADENZA 18-District Programme was a series of public education events co-organised by CADENZA: A Jockey Club Initiative for Seniors and Radio Television Hong Kong Radio 5 (RTHK), and sponsored by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust.
The objectives of the programme were: (1) to revolutionise the ways people view and care for the elderly; (2) to equip the soon-to-be-old with knowledge contributing to active and positive ageing; and (3) to highlight topics pertaining to positive ageing to residents of Hong Kong's 18 districts, having regard to specific local characteristics.

CADENZA TV Series (2009)
To promote positive aging, CADNEZA and Radio Television Hong Kong co-produced a 10-episode CADENZA TV Series. The series was well received by the public and has won a number of international awards.
CADENZA TV Series
CADENZA co-produced a 10-episode CADENZA TV Series with RTHK. As a public education programme, the objective was to help Hong Kong prepare for the challenges posed by an ageing population; to promote active ageing and project a positive public image of the older people.
The drama series focused on second half of life covering a wide range of topics from health promotion, quality of life, work and retirement, living environment to bereavement and dying.
The series was developed alongside the six themes of CADENZA: (1) Health Promotion & Maintenance: Optimising Mental and Physical Functions; (2) Health & Social Services in Hong Kong; (3) The Living Environment; (4) Quality of Life & Quality of Dying; (5) Legal & Financial Issues; and (6) Ageism / Disparity.

CADENZA: The Jockey Club Initiative for Seniors organizied a public education event on 26 April 2008. The event designated to promote the positive face of ageing. The venue was the Jockey Club School of Public Health Building at the Prince of Wales Hospital. There were interactive exhibitions – health promotion and maintenance; availability of health and social services in Hong Kong; the living environment; quality of life and quality of dying. The format consisted of poster, equipment and product display, interactive sessions that include screening, talks and participation in group activities those with chronic diseases such as diabetes, osteoarthritis, chronic lung disease or have experienced falls.

An Elder Friendly Hong Kong Educational Fair (2007)
Two overseas experts, Professor John Morley from the University of St. Louis, U.S. and Professor Kay-Tee Khaw from the University of Cambridge, U.K. were invited to enlighten the participants on the secrets of longevity: role of hormones or lifestyle. The fair also included interactive exhibitions related to positive ageing.
An Elder Friendly Hong Kong Educational Fair
The Jockey Club Cadenza project organized a public education fair in conjunction with the presentation of awards for the competition entitled "CADENZA: Reflections on the Beauty of Ageing – Images & Words"– a public education event designed to promote the positive face of ageing, to celebrate the Senior Citizen's Day, on 18 November. The venue was Jockey Club School of Public Health Building at the Prince of Wales Hospital.
The programme started with a prize presentation ceremony by a panel of experts honouring the winners of a number of selected photographs and accompanying captions. Through this event, it was hoped that inspiring images and words on different perspectives of positive ageing will be captured and communicated to the public and thereby contribute to changing society's view of old age.
After the ceremony, two overseas experts (Prof. John Morley from the University of St. Louis, Missouri, U.S.A., and Prof. Kay-Tee Khaw from the University of Cambridge, U.K.) shared the secrets of longevity: role of hormones or lifestyle, followed by some data on vascular health and lifestyle for the Hong Kong elderly population, presented by Prof. Jean Woo, Project Director of Cadenza Project.
There were interactive exhibitions relating to the six themes: positive ageing – health promotion and maintenance; ageism; availability of health and social services in Hong Kong; the living environment; quality of life and quality of dying; and legal and financial issues.

CADENZA: Reflections on the Beauty of Ageing - Images & Words (2007)
Through the contest, it was hoped that the inspiring images and words collected can foster poster positive community attitude towards ageing.
CADENZA: Reflections on the Beauty of Ageing - Images & Words photo contest
CADENZA is the 5-year elderly project, launched by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. The project aims to foster positive attitudes toward older populations, improve access to quality services for the elderly and empower older individuals to improve their own well-being in all aspects of life.
The "CADENZA: Reflections on the Beauty of Ageing – Images & Words" photo competition is a key public education event of CADENZA in this year. We hope that contestants can reflect on the beauty and wisdom of the elderly through images and words.
CADENZA, which stands for "Celebrate their Accomplishments; Discover their
Effervescence and Never-ending Zest as they Age". CADENZA is an extended virtuosic section in classical music, usually near the end of a movement in a concerto. The word is used here in a figurative context to describe the apex of one's life and the celebration of a lifetime's accomplishments.
We hope the entries of the competition can convey the meaning of CADENZA to the public by images and words.

Contestants must provide a caption of less than 100 words, in Chinese or English, in prose or poetry format.

Judging Entries will be judged by a panel of experts from relevant fields, based on the combined effect of the photo and the caption.
Winners There will be 4 winners from each category. Each of them can receive a trophy, a framed product of the winning entry and a 2008 calendar featuring all the winning entries.
Winning entries and a selection of entries will be used for the celebration of the International Day of the Older Person, the celebration of the Hong Kong Day of the Older Person, and exhibited at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre.
