Assistant Professor of Orthopaedics and Traumatology
矯形外科及創傷學系助理教授
BIOGRAPHY
Professor Zhang received his PhD in the Department of Orthopaedics & Traumatology at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). After finishing his postdoctoral training at Stanford University, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, he joined the Department of Orthopaedics & Traumatology, CUHK as an Assistant Professor in 2023. Professor Zhang has published over 35 peer-reviewed articles. His research topics have been chosen for the final lists of new investigator awards and presentations of podium spotlight sessions at several academic conferences. Professor Zhang also serves as the guest editor and reviewer of several international journals.
As an orthopaedic researcher, Professor Zhang’s interests center on cell-based and tissue-engineering therapeutic strategies for immunomodulation during the regeneration of bone and muscle. He is also interested in and has applied novel techniques in pre-clinical and clinical orthopaedic studies for detecting differential dynamics and changes during the progress. He is passionate about finding new targets and strategies for the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders.
