In volume II, authors
focus on the operative techniques in fracture fixation, providing
their tricks and methods to avoid pitfalls. They provide their
viewpoints on surgical principles, preoperative preparation, positioning
and operative techniques, and cover in a comprehensive manner with
all of the basic internal and external fixation techniques necessary
for the treatment of musculoskeletal trauma. The appendix covers
soft tissue considerations, such as tendon, nerve and vascular injuries.
The newest developments in trauma treatment, including minimally
invasive techniques and biological fixation, are addressed in the
appendix as well. This manual is a useful reference for medical students,
residents, trauma fellows, practicing orthopaedic surgeons, and other
non-musculoskeletal specialists involved in the care of musculoskeletal
injuries such as emergency room physicians, general practitioners,
general surgeons, trauma surgeons, and others.
