JCECC Capacity Building and Education Programmes on End-of-Life Care
Capacity Building Programme > Training for Nurses > Interactive Workshops
The majority of interactive workshops for nurses is based on a collection of communication protocols designed to help them articulate empathy, respect and support to, as well as elicit thoughts and preferences from, end-of-life patients and family members. During these sessions, participants learn how to apply the communication protocols through demonstrations and role-play exercises.
Besides communication skills, interactive workshops conducted in recent years have also started to explore other topics including clinical ethics, spiritual care, bereavement support, and mindfulness techniques, such that nurse participants are trained in a more holistic manner.
