詳情 | African Indigenous Religions Demystified ‘Witchcraft’, ‘Black Magic’, ‘Juju’, these are some of the terms ascribed to African indigenous religions by colonialists and contemporaries alike. But what do African people actually practise? Come join this session conducted by the Africa Center Hong Kong to learn about their cosmologies and how they experience and take pride in those religions, which will be demystified from spirituality in Africa to voodoo evolution among the African diaspora. The participants will also have a chance to make African masks, which play an important role in this topic.
(Online) Children in War Zones The idea of war seems so far away from most people’s minds. In this online session, Nicole Tung, a Hong Kong born, US educated award-winning freelance photojournalist, will bring us closer to the picture through her lens. Currently based in Turkey, Nicole has been documenting people in war-torn countries like Ukraine, Syria, Iraq and Libya. She will talk about how children are impacted by being either witnesses or participants in war and how that legacy can also profoundly change a society. She will also share the approaches she has when it comes to storytelling that involves children.
The meeting link will be sent to the successful applicants in the confirmation email. |
