Polynesia, Micronesia, Melanesia – islands and island groups in the Pacific can be confusing for people who have never visited. But the cultural diversity and historical significance of this part of the world is often under-appreciated – so join us and discover with us and our guests from various Pacific islands how Taiwanese aboriginal cultures affected languages in New Zealand or Hawaii, or how Polynesian seafarers colonised the vast ocean long before Columbus did the same in the Atlantic. |
