Service by Learning Enhancement Officers (LEOs)
Individual guidance and consultation service is offered by a team of Learning Enhancement Officers (LEOs). All full-time students are welcome to approach the LEOs when they want to talk about their learning at CUHK. The LEOs will seek to provide support to these students. If deemed appropriate, the LEOs will collaborate with academic advisors and other relevant units to offer assistance to students in both academic-related and non-academic matters. Noting that non-local students’ adjustment to the new environment could be more challenging, LEOs proactively reach out to new non-local undergraduate students, listen to their study expectations and monitor their learning and adjustment progress. Follow-up service is also available for upper year non-local undergraduate students on need basis.
As for full-time postgraduate students, the LEOs run a regular drop-in consultation service during term time for them to meet with the LEO face-to-face or online via Facebook Messenger on a one-to-one basis to discuss anything about study and answer questions. A LEO is available during the drop-in sessions as follows:
