Welcome to The Chinese University of Hong Kong!

 

As you are about to embark on a new journey of your life in the form of postgraduate study, you must be going through a period of both excitement and uncertainty. To assist you in your adjustment, the University is ready to help you navigate through the opportunities and challenges in the course of your studies here.

 

The orientation programmes, which are a joint effort made by the Office of Student Affairs and many other university units, consist of a series of online orientation talks as well as guided library tours. These tailor-made programmes are for all new postgraduate students to gain comprehensive, relevant information and to plan ahead. If you will not be able to attend the talks on live, you can still watch video recordings available on this website.

 

More programme details will be released on this website from July onwards, providing you with useful information on the University. Please visit this website regularly for updates.

Tips for Non-local Students (3 / 18 August 2023)

To prepare our non-local postgraduate students a smooth adaptation to a new environment. The Learning Enhancement Officer from the Office of Student Affairs is going to meet the new non-local postgraduate students on ZOOM to give them some useful information to prepare for the new postgraduate journey in CUHK.

We highly encourage all new non-local students to attend ONE of the following sessions to meet with our Learning Enhancement Officer to get prepared of your new life in CUHK.

Orientation Talks (8 August 2023)

Unless otherwise advised by the Office of Student Affairs with alternative arrangements, the Orientation Talks will continue as scheduled under any weather conditions, including when Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above and/or Black Rainstorm Signal is hoisted.

  • Please apply for leave of absence from your major department before attending the orientation activities.
  • Participants who live off-campus are required to present their CU Link cards at the University entrances. For those who have not obtained their CU Link cards, are required to register their identity information with the security guard.
  • Regarding inclement weather arrangements, if typhoon warning signal No. 8 or above is hoisted or the black rainstorm warning is in force at 7:00am on 4/ 23 / 25 August 2023, the tours will be cancelled.
