Key Benefits
Course Overview
A research in the USA in 2019 (CB Insight) showed that 42% of start-up businesses failed because there is “no market need” for their products. It becomes the critical success factors for businesses, therefore, be they start-ups or even established companies, to identify the market of their products, validate their value proposition, and find out the market needs correctly, because failing to do so, everything thereafter (such as product plan, marketing plan, operations plan, and financial plan etc.) will be wrong.
This course uses the “6Ws Approach” developed by the course lecturer, to conduct market identification and test/validate your value proposition, which leads to designing the product to meet the market needs. Success and failure cases will be used as illustrations.

Short pre-reading materials will be given for the three case studies in week 2, and participants are encouraged to use the worksheets to jot down the 6Ws related to each of the three cases based on their understanding of the 6Ws learned in week 1. Team assignment: a short case will be given to participants. Formed teams to work on the assignment together over the web or via their agreed means, to submit to the course lecturer after the lesson for comment. |
