Length of Program

  • 18 months

Program Intake

  • 1 – 2 intakes per year
  • The number of intake is planned according to the service need

Class Size

  • 40-50 students per intake

Entry Requirement

  • Registered as nurse in Hong Kong

Teaching Staff

  • Midwife educators
  • Guest speakers – doctors, experienced midwives and allied health staff

Teaching Medium

  • English / Chinese 

Mode of Study

  • Study block and clinical practicum

Venue of Study

  • Theoretical component : School of Midwifery, PWH
  • Clinical practicum : Obstetric units accredited as training site by the Midwives Council of Hong Kong

Final Award

  • Post-registration Diploma in Midwifery

Arrangement of Staff Release

  • Full time HA employees will be granted paid study leave
  • Employees of Department of Health / Private hospital will be offered Training terms in accordance with the agreement made between HA and Department of Health / Private hospitals
