Delegation of Beijing-Hong Kong Talent Exchange Center Visits CUHK
A five-member delegation of the Beijing-Hong Kong Talent Exchange Center led by Mr. Liu Zhiming, General Representative of the Ministry of Science and Technology Hong Kong Office, visited The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) on 19 April. The delegates met with Professor Rocky Tuan, Vice-Chancellor of CUHK; Professor Chan Wai-Yee, Pro-Vice-Chancellor; Professor Sham Mai-Har, Pro-Vice-Chancellor; Professor Daniel HS Lee, Associate Vice-President, Professor Benny Zee, Director of the Office of Research and Knowledge Transfer Services, and Ms. Wing Wong, Director of Academic Links (China).
Professor Tuan introduced the recent research development of the University to the delegation including new initiatives in the Greater Bay Area. Discussion was held on the plans to participate in major national science and technology projects in which CUHK will be able to contribute to the research development and enhance its capacity leveraging on the unprecedented opportunities of the Greater Bay Area initiative. The delegation visited the State Key Laboratories in CUHK including State Key Laboratory of Research on Bioactivities and Clinical Applications of Medicinal Plants, State Key Laboratory of Agrobiotechnology, State Key Laboratory of Translational Oncology and State Key Laboratory of Digestive Disease.
The Beijing-Hong Kong Talent Exchange Center has been established in Hong Kong for more than 30 years. It has provided services and training opportunities for talent interflows between Mainland China and Hong Kong to promote collaboration and development for both regions.
