CUHK Greater Bay Area Internship Programme
The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) Greater Bay Area Internship Programme has been launched during June to August 2021. The Internship Programme offers valuable opportunities to CUHK students to apply their knowledge and skills as well as explore career development prospects in the Greater Bay Area. A total of 8 students has been undertaking internship placements offered by various companies and organizations located in Shenzhen, Zhuhai, and Jiangmen.
As part of the Internship Programme, an online thematic talk on Greater Bay Area development was organized on 25 June. Prof. Wong Kam Fai, Associate Dean (External Affairs) of Faculty of Engineering was invited to as the speaker. The talk was well received with an attendance of more than 160 scholars and students from CUHK, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau University Alliance, and Beijing-Hong Kong Universities Alliance.
Summer Research Placement Programme for Mainland and Taiwan Students First Launches Online and Offline Mixed Mode
2021 Summer Research Placement Programme is held during 28 June to 13 August 2021. Due to the pandemic situation, the programme was first launched via both online and offline modes this year. The opening ceremony of the programme was held on 13 July via online-offline mixed mode as well. Among the 49 participating students, 21 will join the programme online while 28 of them will participate in the programme on campus.
Professor Wong Suk-Ying, Associate Vice-President of CUHK, delivered a welcome speech at the opening ceremony. She wished the participating students a successful research experience, both online and offline, getting beautiful memories at CUHK while preparing themselves for future development in research or career advancement.
To enhance collaboration among CUHK and universities in mainland China and Taiwan whilst encouraging academic and cultural exchange among students across the strait, OALC has been organizing this annual summer programme for 12 consecutive years since 2008, hosting a total of 899 mainland and Taiwan students.
Over 100 CUHK Students Participate in Online or Offline Summer Activities
102 CUHK students are currently participating in 15 summer activities coordinated by OALC. Students seize the opportunity to participate in courses or exchange activities online or offline organized by Mainland or Taiwan universities, and make use of the summer time to enrich themselves by widening their horizons.
