Summer Institute (SI)

Hello Hong Kong (for non-local students only)

Designed for international participants joining the SI, the two-day “Hello Hong Kong” session from 15 to 16 July will let them settle down in their student hostel and learn how they could make the most out of their stay in Hong Kong with their new friends. During the two-week programme, there will be many opportunities for them to experience the local cultures and explore Hong Kong through different activities, visits and interaction with the local students in and out of the classroom.

Accommodation (for non-local students only)

On-campus accommodation will be arranged for participants coming from overseas for the whole programme period. It will be arranged at one of the student hostels of the nine residential Colleges of CUHK.

CUHK is the only university in Hong Kong that has a residential college system. Colleges are congenial communities with their own hostels, dining halls and facilities. They are where students receive pastoral care and whole-person education, and offer exciting palettes with which to colour their university life. In fact, many graduates of the University have quoted college life as among their best experiences at CUHK. All hostel rooms at CUHK are modestly furnished with air-conditioning and high-speed internet. There are also shared bathrooms and laundry facilities.
