Course Description | This course aims to analyse international monetary relations and problems. Major areas of discussion include basic concepts and analysis of the balance of payments, the foreign exchange market, determination of spot and forward exchange rates, international capital flows, the payments adjustment mechanism, international monetary problems and arrangements, and international debt and its development, sourcing equity internationally, political risk management and international capital budgeting. | |||

Professor KWOK is a Research Professor of International Business at the University of South Carolina. His research concentrates on international finance and international business education. Professor Kwok was the President of the Academy of International Business from 2018-2020. In 2017, he was elected a Fellow of the Academy of International Business for his significant contribution to international business research and education. He is one of the pioneers conducting interdisciplinary research on how national culture influences various financial practices around the world. He received his PhD degree with a major in International Business from the University of Texas at Austin. Professor KWOK is a popular teacher among students, evident with his numerous teaching awards received from different universities in the U.S., Europe and Asia. He was interviewed by the National Public Radio (“All Things Considered” program), China’s CCTV (national TV channel of China), and WIS-TV on Newswatch program. |
