The requirements for the M.Phil. Degree include the satisfactory completion of two years of course work, totaling 22 credits. Students are also required to take a Portfolio Examination during their first year of study, and, in the second year, to write an M.Phil. thesis which is an original contribution to anthropology based on short-term fieldwork or library research.
