“Sharing & Participation: The Commons in Art, Social Aesthetics Education / Practitioner Forum 2019” was held successfully. The conference was co-presented by the Fine Art Department of the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the School of Art Management and Education of the China Academy of Art from August 20-24, 2019, at the Social Aesthetic Education Base in Qianxi Village, Pingnan County, Fujian Province.
Frank Vigneron, the head of the Fine Art department, said in his speech that there are many similarities between urban social aesthetic education and rural aesthetic education. Prof. Vigneron hopes that the China Academy of Art, the Chinese University of Hong Kong and Pingnan county will further establish a good interactive relationship and allow students from the Chinese University of Hong Kong to participate by conducting field research and creating art practices. Professor Huang Jun, Dean of the School of Art Management and Education of the China Academy of Art, said in his speech that the students of the School of Art Management and Education use the opportunity of social practice in the countryside to conduct field research with the perspective of human care and social care. Nanxian has formulated a cultural record-keeping strategy and proposed a development concept based on cultural planning to optimize the village’s ecological structure, activate traditional local culture, and use the power of art to help the countryside.
