The Institute of Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine at the Chinese University of Hong Kong is offering 2 Our Profile The tissue microenvironment conveys information to regulate numerous processes critical for the functioning of the entire body down to responses of individual cells. The overall goal of Prof. Blocki’s research is to tap into nature’s wisdom to learn to decipher and engineer microenvironments that drive specific tissue processes including tissue healing and regeneration. Prof. Blocki is looking for a Postdoc to develop a new class of biomaterials based on in vitro cell-derived extracellular matrix (ECM) with programmed bioactivities. These will be applied to chronic wounds to improve the hostile tissue environment. Subsequently the lost skin tissue shall be replaced by 3D bio-printed vascularized skin constructs.
