CUHK Art Museum’s Gold Exhibition Unveils Ancient Chinese Gold Techniques

The exhibition Golden Techniques II: Art of the Chinese Goldsmiths, co-organised by The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK)’s Art Museum and the Chow Tai Fook Master Studio, will run until 21 May 2023. All members of the public are welcome, and admission is free. This exhibition sheds light on three major techniques: gold and silver inlay, damascene, and the production and use of gold wire, alongside hammer-chiselling, casting and precision gold soldering. Celebrating the Year of the Rabbit at CUHK Art Museum

To usher in the Year of the Rabbit, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK)’s Art Museum will host the exhibition Celebrating the Year of the Rabbit from 25 February to 18 May 2023. Members of the public are welcome, and admission is free. The exhibition will showcase more than 20 rabbit-related artefacts from the museum’s collection and private collections. If Typhoon Signal No.8 or above remains hoisted before normal opening hours of the day, the Art Museum will not open. The exhibition features a selection of more than 40 Chinese landscape paintings, dating from the Yuan dynasty to the contemporary period, and showcasing distinctive styles and techniques. The “Majestic Vistas” of the exhibition title describes the gigantic size and composition of these large-scale landscape paintings.
