Student Activities

Our language courses place great emphasis on continuous learning outside of the classroom. For our day-time intensive courses, in addition to having three hours of class every Monday to Friday, our students actively participate in various extracurricular activities. Large-scale outdoor activities are regularly organised, including happy lunch hours, spring evenings and autumn trips. We also organise language and cultural activities covering all facets of the community. Every spring, we try to arrange small-scale visits to local primary schools for our students to introduce the customs of their countries and share their learning experiences with the schoolchildren.

In order to foster communication between our international and local students at CUHK, CLC actively participates in the language activities of various Colleges at CUHK, with New Asia College being our most frequent partner. Every semester, we regularly hold “Putonghua Evenings” and “Cantonese Evenings” with dialogues focusing on daily life. Additionally, thanks to CUHK and the Government’s support, we have been able to lead students to explore the community and learn about various social services by visiting charities, churches, nursing homes, etc. every year.
