General

  1. Where can I have the latest number of University members confirmed or preliminarily confirmed with COVID-19 infection?

Starting from January 30, persons testing positive for COVID-19 are no longer required to report to the Department of Health. The University Health Centre has therefore also stopped collecting figures of confirmed cases at CUHK from that day.

  2. Do I need to present a Vaccine Pass upon campus access?

Starting from December 29, 2022, the Vaccine Pass are no longer required for entering the campus. However, they must still tap their CU Link cards to enter the campus, in accordance with existing access control measures.

  3. Who can I call or e-mail if I need more advice?

    COVID-19 hotline: 3943 6436 (office hours)
    E-mail: healtheducation.uhs@cuhk.edu.hk

  4. Any measures for campus visitors?

Visitors and alumni without a CU Link card are still required to register details of their Hong Kong ID cards (or other identification documents), Alumni Library Cards or CUHK Alumni Credit Cards at the campus entrance in accordance with access control measures.

Students

You may refer to this guide for the Hong Kong government's pre-departure requirements for inbound travellers.

  2. If I have tested positive for COVID-19, what should I do?

According to the latest government policy, persons testing positive are not required to report to the Department of Health. Students who test positive but have mild or no symptoms should attend classes as usual and observe the government’s health advice. Students who test positive with symptoms should seek medical attention as soon as possible and follow medical instructions. They can apply for leave of absence from classes or examinations with medical certificates following the normal procedure.

  3. Where can I seek mental health support in times of pandemic?

You can contact our Wellness and Counselling Centre at 3943 7208 or 3943 3493 during office hours, or our 24-hour hotline 5400 2055. You can also download our Sunshine@CUHK mobile app to access tips and information about mental wellness and related activities.

  4. Can I have special class arrangements if I cannot return to campus due to travel restrictions?

In the upcoming Term 2 of 2022-23, the default mode of delivery of teaching and learning will continue to be in person and on campus for all undergraduate and postgraduate students, with flexibility for taught postgraduate programmes, i.e. the mode of delivery of teaching and learning can be in person or hybrid. In view of the relaxation in travel restrictions in Hong Kong and other places, all students are expected to be back on campus in time for face-to-face classes in Term 2, and no special arrangements will be made for any delays due to travel restrictions.
