High Table Dinner-cum-Scholarship Presentation Ceremony

S.H. Ho College provides a wide array of scholarships to its students as a token of appreciation to their ceaseless pursuit of distinguished performance and academic excellence. On 9 November, Ho Sin Hang Hall was filled with thundering applause during the scholarship presentation ceremony held during the High Table Dinner. Prof. Samuel Sun, College Master; Dr Tzu-leung HO, Chairman of the Committee of the Overseers, S.H. Ho College and Mrs. Stella Ho presented 156 scholarships to the distinguished students. Before the ceremony began, Dr Ho gave an inspiring speech to all the students and encouraged them to try their best to pay back the society.

After the scholarships were presented, Miss YIP Ming-yuen, the recipient of Dr and Madam Tzu-leung HO Scholarship for Distinguished Medical Students of the year, representing all scholarship recipients, proceeded to the lectern and expressed gratitude to benefactors and college members for recognizing their efforts and fostering their development. “To maximize my return to society, I should also constantly serve the impoverished and volunteer in times of unfortunate disasters,” said Miss Yip. She also shared her favourite quote from Confucius which emphasizes the importance of serving to perfect others’ lives that would be her lifelong mission.

Apart from scholarship presentation, the result of the 10th Anniversary Writing and Creative Works Competition was also announced. Applicants expressed their thoughts, love and creativity to celebrate S.H. Ho College’s 10th anniversary by creative writing, original songs and lyrics, videos and what’s more, mobile phone app! Mr. LAU Chak Lui, Miss ZHANG Sihan, Miss LEE Yan-yee Christie, Miss TSANG Hiu-chun, Mr. MAK Kiu-shun, Miss LIU Frances Valerie and Miss BUT Tsin-lam were awarded for their creativity and uniqueness demonstrated in their works. Among the winners, Mr. LAU Chak Lui, is the champion in the writing section. Miss TSANG Hiu-chun, creating a poster in sign language to bring out its theme of “Home, Family, SHHO”, is the champion of Creative Works. Prof. Samuel Sun presented the awards to the winners.
