Prof. Fu Xiaobing, Academician, Division of Health Engineering, Chinese Academy of Engineering visited the School of Biomedical Sciences on 7 December 2011. During the visit, Prof. Fu was warmly received by Prof. Chan Wai-Yee, Director and Prof. Li Gang, Deputy Chief of Stem Cell & Regeneration (SCR) Programme, and was arranged to meet with members of our Cancer & Inflammation (C & I) and SCR Programs including Professors Franky L. Chan, Chen Yangchao, Feng Bo, Fung Kwok-Pui, Kenneth K.H. Lee, Lee Tin-Lap, Leung Po-Sing, Kingston K.L Mak, Wan Chao, Xia Yin and Zhao Hui as well as Professor Lu Gang of Department of Surgery, Associate Member of SCR Program. At the meeting, Prof. Fu was briefed on the latest development of our School and discussed with our members the possible areas for academic and research collaboration. Prior to visiting our School, Prof. Fu had given a keynote lecture on "Wound Repair and Regeneration in China: Focus and Success" at the 1st CUHK International Symposium on Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine held on 6 December 2011.
The visit to our School was part of the "CAE Academicians Visit Programme 2011", organized by The Chinese University of Hong Kong between 5 and 8 December 2011. The CAE delegation comprised 10 members including Prof. Jiang Wenhan from the Division of Information and Electronic Engineering; Prof. Liu Xianlin and Prof. Liu Jingnan from the Division of Civil Hydraulic and Architecture Engineering; and Prof. Wang Weiqi from the Division of Health Engineering. Apart from meeting with the University's Senior Administration, they were also arranged to meet representatives from the Faculties of Medicine and Engineering.
