Students will produce a substantial research paper on a topic of their choice in an area of China studies.

The paper should be between 7,000 and 8,000 words (including footnotes and bibliography). Students will
be assessed on three elements:
1. 20%: First draft of the research paper 
2. 20%: Presentation of research to student seminars
3. 60%: Final paper

Attention is drawn to University policy and regulations on honesty in academic work, and to the disciplinary
guidelines and procedures applicable to breaches of such policy and regulations. Details may be found at
http://www.cuhk.edu.hk/policy/academichonesty/. With each assignment, students will be required to submit
a signed declaration that they are aware of the policies, regulations and procedures.
