The College finally resumed the Lunar New Year Party after three years’ battle against the pandemic. All participants cherished the memorable time together. Mr. Leung Ying-wai, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the College, College Head Prof. Hector Sun-On Chan, and Ms. Anny Wong, Chairperson of the NACAA, delivered welcoming remarks and wished the College a prosperous new year. They all thanked those who gave unfailing support to the College during the difficult time with the pandemic. A cheque presentation ceremony was also added to extend our gratitude to the donors who attended the party.
This year, the College and NACAA invited the New Asia Chinese Music Society and New Asia Chorus to give performances. The music group members grasped every opportunity to practise despite the difficult circumstances over the past three years. During the party, their impressive performances were not only delivered with great skills but also achieved emotional power.
Apart from the performances, traditional activities such as lantern riddles and lucky draw also gave much joy and happiness to the participants. During the dinner, Prof. Chong Tai-leung Terence, Associate Head of the College, and Mr. Yuen Tak-tim Anthony, College trustee and alumnus, reported the work progress of the Alumni Fundraising Task Force, hoping to garner more support from our alumni to the upcoming fundraising activities.
The College would like to thank the Alumni Association, colleagues and students for organizing the Chinese New Year Party, as well as our alumni Ms. Lin Wai-kwan (20/Government and Public Administration), Mr. Wong Ka-chun (12/Laws) and participants of the New Asia Young Scholars Scheme, Chan Man-wai (Computer Science/2) and Lam Tat-hin ( IBBA/4) for serving as emcees.
