Topics and Important Notice for Registration

The College organizes Bi-weekly Assemblies regularly to enrich students’ knowledge on University life, social issues, arts and culture through a series of talks. The College also organizes a number of public lectures by inviting people from all walks of life to speak and share on different topics, aiming to enrich students’ knowledge of Chinese culture and various topics, and broaden their horizons.

All full-time undergraduate students (except students of Medicine, Nursing and Chinese Medicine, who are having clinical training) are required to attend college assembly within their normative study period. Students must register for and attend the following number of Bi-weekly Assemblies and/or public lectures in this term of this academic year:

  • THREE Bi-weekly Assemblies OR
  • TWO Bi-weekly Assemblies and ONE public lecture

(At least TWO of them must be attended in person)

 

In response to the pandemic development in Hong Kong and the latest guidelines of the University, the College shall update the above attendance requirements according to the latest situation. Please pay attention to the announcements of the College through emails and the College website. The first Bi-weekly Assembly of this term will be held on 13 January 2023 (Friday) at 11:30 a.m. at Sir Run Run Shaw Hall with live broadcasting via Zoom.

 

Students must register for the required number of Bi-weekly Assemblies and public lecture at the RAS website: https://www.cuhk.edu.hk/ras. The captioned web-site will be open for on-line registration during the following periods:

From 11:00 a.m., 09 January 2023 (Mon)
to 12:00 noon of 2 working days before each Assembly/ public lecture/ workshop

 

Due to limited seats, students can only attend one public lecture/ workshop in each term. All College students may register for the public lecture/ workshop at the aforementioned period.

 

All Assemblies and public lectures (unless otherwise indicated) will be conducted in Cantonese. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided to non-local students at the Bi-weekly Assemblies.
