Judge David Neuberger on Hong Kong and the Common Law

On the evening of Friday 1 November, Judge David Neuberger, former President of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom and a Non-Permanent Judge of the Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal, visited Morningside College. During his talk to the roomful of students, Neuberger discussed the history of the British common law system and the robustness of Hong Kong’s legal system. He also emphasized Hong Kong’s uniqueness in relation to Singapore and Mainland China. In the Q&A session, students asked Neuberger about his views on the rule of law and his career as a judge, and he shared many stories and experiences from his long and fruitful career as a legal practitioner.
