Main Concerns in Taking Late-Drop or Pass/Fail Grading Options (for 1st term 2020/21)

The University has just announced the “One-Off Arrangement for Pass/Fail Grading and Late-drop Options for Undergraduate Courses Offered in Term 1, 2020-21”. According to it, undergraduate students are given the options
- to late-drop, or
- to opt for Pass/Fail grading.
- Students need to apply directly to the Registration and Examination Section (RES)
- Application period: November 16-22, 2020

- The following are some immediate concerns need to be considered for choosing these options for various courses. The list is NOT meant to be exhaustive.
Examples:
1. late drop 2010 - > cannot take 2020 in the coming term, even successfully registered.
2. Pass/Fail grade for 1010 -> cannot declare math major in phase II.
