- No tutorial class in the first week.
- Homework is due in the box on the second floor of LSB on Friday at NOON. All problems are selected from Friedberg, Insel and Spence, Linear algebra, Pearson (4th edition). HW 1 is due on January 18.
- Lecture on January 22 (Tuesday) will be cancelled.
- Midterm 1 is scheduled on February 26, 9-10am, in Lady Shaw Building LT5. The exam will cover material from Chapter 1 and 2 of the textbook and from our class notes up to Lecture 6. NO calculator or notebook is allowed.
- Midterm 2 is scheduled on March 26, 9-10am, in Lady Shaw Building LT5. The exam will cover material from Chapter 1 - 5 of the textbook and from our class notes up to Lecture 9. NO calculator or notebook is allowed.

Course Description
This course is a continuation of Linear Algebra I (MATH 1030). It is a second course on linear algebra and will cover basic concepts of abstract vector spaces, linear transformations, eigenvalues and eigenvectors, diagonalizability, operators on inner product spaces, orthogonality and Gram-Schmidt process, adjoint, normal and self-adjoint operators, spectral theorems, and if time permits, quadratic forms and Jordan canonical forms. More emphasis will be put on the theoretical understanding of basic concepts in linear algebra.
