Ms. Annette Frömel obtained her master’s degree in Translation, with major in English and minor in Chinese from the School of Applied Linguistics and Cultural Studies at the University of Mainz in Germersheim, Germany. She completed her teacher training course at the Goethe Institute in 1999 and taught at the Goethe Institute HK and HKU School of Professional and Continuing Education (HKU SPACE). She obtained her second master’s degree in Applied Linguistics in 2005 from the University of Hong Kong and her dissertation was about language arts in the German classroom. She obtained the Teaching Development and Language Enhancement Grant (TDLEG) for 2019-22 Triennium in 2020 for a project on “Sample Videos for Moodle Tasks and Roleplays” for the German programme. She is also currently co-supervising another TDLEG project on “CUHK Modern Languages Curriculum Revision Exercises”.
