Lee Woo Sing College has received “Gold Award” at the Web Accessibility Recognition Scheme (WARS) 2020/21 in the Website Stream. Since the College has been credited Gold Awards for three consecutive editions (2016 and 2018/19), a “Triple Gold Award” was credited for the first time, making it the first CUHK College in achieving the highest accolade in WARS. The award presentation ceremony was held at The Center on 14 April 2021, and the award was well attained by Prof. Joseph LAU, College Founding Master.
Organized by the Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation Limited and co-organized by the Office of the Government Chief Information Officer, WARS showcase organizations in various sectors that facilitate access to their websites and mobile applications for all internet users, including people with disabilities and seniors, through compatible designs.
Lee Woo Sing College participate WARS since 2016. Under Website Stream, a Gold Award is given to participating websites which have fulfilled 24 criteria, for instance, smooth operations, meaningfully structured content, clear headings and data presentation and sufficient colour contrast. All criteria are tested by qualified system and practical operation. In November 2020, the College official website conducted a full-scale renovation to catch up with latest trend and habit of internet users. The new edition features clear and simplified structural design, as well as provision of responsive support to mobile devices like smartphones and tablets.
