Art Exhibitions Art Museum Exhibition A n c i e n t Chinese B l a ck Wares f r om the Collection of Mr. and Mrs. Yeung W i ng Tak took place at the west-wing gallerie s of the A r t Museum from 9th July to 14th November 1999. The exhibition featured a fine selectio n of over 100 pieces of Chinese black wares — ancient Chinese ceramics w i t h b l a ck or blackish-brown glaze . The exhibits date f r om the Six Dynasties to the M i n g period. The great variety of glaze effects demonstrates the stylistic diversit y of black wares produced i n various periods and regions i n China. Vase with stenciled plum blossom reserved against black glazed ground, Jizhou ware, Jiangxi, Southern Song Inspiration-Exploration Exhibition The exhibition displayed wo r k produced by the 46 architecture student s enrolled i n the micro 3-D design course initiated b y t h e D e p a r t m e n t of A r c h i t e c t u re i n collaboration w i t h the Industrial Centre of Ho ng Ko n g Polytechnic University. The exhibition was held from 19th to 25th Ma y 1999 i n Pao's Gallery of the H o n g Ko n g A r t Centre. Art Exhibitions The Department o f Fine A r ts staged three exhibitions f r om May to June 1999. • Graduation Exhibition Ts ui Hau Kam Tin' took place f r om 29th May-27th June 1999 at the w e s t - w i n g galleries of the A r t Museum. • The F i f t h Ma s t e r of Fine A r t s Thesis Exhibition took place f r om 29th May-13th June 1999 at Cheng M i n g Building, Hu i 's Gallery, and Humanities Building. • Annual Exhibitio n 1999 of the Department of Fine Arts : T e n d i ng Repair' took place from 29th Ma y to 13th June 1999 at 2 / F and 3 / F , Cheng M i n g Building. • Chinese Universit y Bulletin A u t u m n • W i n t e r 1999 58
