Jointly organized by the United College, Faculty of Engineering, CUHK; and National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan, the Documentary Exhibition of Prof. Chen Chih-fan is now taking place at 2/F, Wu Chung Multimedia Library, United College, till 13 March 2012 in recognition of Professor Chen’s significant contribution to the College and his achievement in literature.

Trained as an electronic engineer, Professor Chen came to CUHK to serve as Professor of Electronics and chairman of the department in 1977 for more than seven years. From 2002 onwards, he served as honorary professor of the Department of Electronic Engineering. Professor Chen is a scientist travelling the realm of literature and is an essayist roaming the world of science. His essays, which have been collected in Chinese textbooks in Hong Kong and Taiwan, have inspired generations of Hong Kong and Taiwan readers. Recently his essays were also collected in textbooks in China.
