- Prof. Lee Shui-shan, Professor of Infectious Diseases and deputy director of the Stanley Ho Centre for Emerging Infectious Diseases, has been invited to be a member of the Advisory Committee on Communicable Diseases, The Hong Kong Medical Association for one year from July 2012.
- Prof. Cheung Mui-ching Fanny, Professor of Psychology, has been appointed by the Chief Executive of the HKSAR as a member of the Electoral Affairs Commission for four years from 29 September 2012.
- Prof. Chiu Fung-kum Helen, Professor of Psychiatry, has been re-appointed by the Chief Executive of the HKSAR as a member of the Long-Term Prison Sentences Review Board for three years from 1 October 2012.
- Prof. Chu Lee-man, associate professor in the School of Life Sciences, has been re-appointed by the Secretary for the Environment as a member of the Endangered Species Advisory Committee for two years from 1 October 2012.
- Prof. Wong Tak-jun, Dean of Business Administration, has been re-appointed by the Financial Secretary as a member of the Insurance Advisory Committee for two years from 1 October 2012.
