I‧CARE Social Service Day

previouspausenext

A total of eighty CUHK staff members and students participated in the I‧CARE Social Service Day supported by the I‧CARE Programme on 4 November. They led about 100 primary school students from low-income families and disabled people to visit CUHK. The volunteers offered various interactive workshops and mass games for the visitors with the aims to raise their social awareness and build up their self-confidence.

In his opening remark, Prof. Joseph J.Y. Sung, Vice-Chancellor of CUHK, said that the I‧CARE Programme encourages students to initiate, engage in, and participate in social and civic services. He believed that when they served the vulnerable groups, their humanistic spirit would be cultivated and their social awareness would be enhanced.
