- Prof. Japhet Sebastian Law, Director of Research in the Aviation Policy and Research Centre, has been appointed by the Chief Executive of the HKSAR as a member of the Banking Review Tribunal from 1 January 2013 to 31 December 2015.
- Prof. Wong Kam-fai William, professor in the Department of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management and associate dean (external affairs) of Engineering, has been appointed by the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development as a member of the Consumer Council for two years from 1 January 2013.
- Prof. Meng Mei-ling Helen, chairman and professor in the Department of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management, has been re-appointed by the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development as a member of the Hong Kong Productivity Council for two years from 1 January 2013.
- Prof. Cheung Yuet-wah, chairman and professor in the Department of Sociology, has been appointed by the Chief Executive of the HKSAR as a member of the Action Committee Against Narcotics for two years from 1 January 2013.
- Prof. Shen Xu-hui Simon, associate professor in the Global Studies Programme, has been re-appointed by the Secretary for the Environment as a member of the Environmental Campaign Committee for two years from 1 January 2013.
- Prof. Chau Kwai-cheong, adjunct associate professor in the Department of Geography and Resource Management, has been re-appointed by the Chief Executive of the HKSAR as the deputy chairman of the Advisory Council on the Environment for two years from 1 January 2013.
- Prof. Fung Tung, associate pro-vice-chancellor and professor in the Department of Geography and Resource Management, has been re-appointed by the Chief Executive of the HKSAR as a member of the Advisory Council on the Environment for two years from 1 January 2013.
- Prof. Ng Cheuk-yee John, adjunct professor in the School of Architecture, has been appointed by the Chief Executive of the HKSAR as a member of the Advisory Council on the Environment for two years from 1 January 2013.
- Prof. Yu Tak-sun Ignatius, associate director (research) and professor in the Jockey Club School of Public Health and Primary Care, has been re-appointed by the Chief Executive of the HKSAR as a member of the Advisory Council on the Environment for two years from 1 January 2013.
