Experts from the Faculty of Medicine of CUHK joined a series of medical conferences held in Changsha, Hunan on 17 to18 November 2011. The Frontier of Medical Sciences, Forum 2011; the First National Conference on Pharmacogenomics; the Founding Conference of Chinese Pharmacogenomics Society; the Third International Conference on Pharmacovigilance; and Drug Safety and Fall Forum of International Biopharmacology and Biotechnique Society, were jointly organized by Division of Medicine and Health, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the Central South University, the Chinese Pharmacological Society (CNPHARS) and the International Association of Biomedicine and Biotechnology and co-organized by Centre for Food and Drug Safety, Faculty of Medicine, the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
The theme of the Conferences was ‘Challenge of Genomic Medicine’. CUHK’s keynote speakers included Prof. Thomas Y.K. Chan, director, Centre for Food and Drug Safety; Prof. Brian Tomlinson, head of Division of Clinical Pharmacology, Department of Medicine and Therapeutics; Prof. Vivian W.Y. Lee, associate professor, School of Pharmacy; and Dr. Teresa M. Hu, post-doctoral fellow, Department of Medicine and Therapeutics.
