- Prof. Fok Tai-fai, Dean of Medicine, has been re-appointed by the Chief Executive of the HKSAR as a member of the Hospital Authority for two years from 1 December 2012.
- Prof. Lee Tze-fan Diana, Professor of Nursing and director of the Nethersole School of Nursing, has been appointed by the Chief Executive of the HKSAR as a member of the Hospital Authority for two years from 1 December 2012.
- Prof. Tsou Jin-yeu, professor in the School of Architecture, has been re-appointed by the Deputy Secretary for Development (Planning and Lands) as a member of the Appeal Tribunal Panel under Section 45 of the Buildings Ordinance for three years from 1 December 2012.
- Prof. Tso Wung-wai, fellow in the Centre for Promoting Science Education, has been re-appointed by the Deputy Secretary for Development (Planning and Lands) as a member of the Appeal Tribunal Panel under Section 45 of the Buildings Ordinance for one year from 1 December 2012.
- Prof. Yum Tak-shing Peter, Professor of Information Engineering, has been re-appointed by the Deputy Secretary for Development (Planning and Lands) as a member of the Appeal Tribunal Panel under Section 45 of the Buildings Ordinance for one year from 1 December 2012.
- Prof. Woo Pui-leng, associate professor in the School of Architecture, has been re-appointed by the Deputy Secretary for Development (Planning and Lands) as a member of the Appeal Tribunal Panel under Section 45 of the Buildings Ordinance for the period from 1 December 2012 to 31 July 2013.
- Prof. Benjamin W. Wah, Provost and Wei Lun Professor of Computer Science and Engineering, has been appointed as chairman of the Research Grants Council for the period from 1 January 2013 to 30 June 2015.
