- Prof. Xu Jianbin, professor in the Department of Electronic Engineering, has been appointed by the Secretary for the Environment as a member of the Appeal Board Panel established under the Electricity Ordinance for three years from 28 July 2012.
- Prof. Tsang Hon-ki, chairman and professor in the Department of Electronic Engineering, has been appointed by the Secretary for the Environment as a member of the Disciplinary Tribunal Panel established under the Electricity Ordinance for three years from 28 July 2012.
- Prof. Chiu Fung-kum Helen, Professor of Psychiatry, has been appointed by the WHO Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse as a member of the Consultation Group on the Classification of Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms in Neurocognitive Disorders for two years from 1 August 2012.
- Prof. Lee Pui-leung Rance, Emeritus Professor of Sociology, has been re-appointed as a member of the Department of Sociology Advisory Committee of Hong Kong Baptist University from 13 July 2012 to 31 August 2014.
