- In accordance with Statute 9.1 and 9.3 of The Chinese University of Hong Kong Ordinance, the Council of CUHK has appointed Prof. Jimmy C.M. Yu, professor in the Department of Chemistry, as Head of United College for a period of four years from 1 August 2012, succeeding Prof. Fung Kwok-pui, as recommended by the committee constituted in accordance with Statues 9.1 and 16.6(b) of the Ordinance.
- The Council has approved the re-appointment of Prof. Sir James Mirrlees as (Founding) Master of Morningside College for a further period of three years from 1 January 2013, as recommended by the Vice-Chancellor, upon the expiry of his current period of appointment on 31 December 2012.
