In another research project, the Faculty discovered that the COVID-19 virus has been found in the fecal samples of all patients, regardless of the degree of their illness. The staff and students of the Department of Chemistry, along with the University Safety Office, were responsible for mixing 1,900 litres of alcohol handrub for distribution to elderly homes, special schools and residential childcare centres.
