The 4th “The D. H. Chen Foundation Scholars Roundtable Discussion”

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) organized the 4th “The D. H. Chen Foundation Scholars Roundtable Discussion” on Tuesday, 1 June 2021, providing a platform for the scholars of the cohorts 2019/20 and 2020/21 to gather together. The event was graced by the presence of Ms. Karen Cheung, Trustee and Chief Strategist of The D. H. Chen Foundation (the Foundation), Mr. Peter Poon, Chief Program Officer of the Foundation, Ms. Polly Cheng, Program Manager of the Foundation, Mr. Jeremy Lok, Program Executive of the Foundation, Professor Rocky Tuan, Vice-Chancellor and President of CUHK, Professor Wong Suk-ying, Director of Admissions and Financial Aid of CUHK, Ms. Lolitta Wong, Director of Institutional Advancement of CUHK and Ms. Fanny Yuen, Assistant Director of Admissions and Financial Aid of CUHK.
Professor Wong Suk-ying delivered her welcoming speech on behalf of CUHK and expressed her sincerest gratitude to the Foundation for their continued trust in the University and unwavering support to the local tertiary education. She also encouraged the scholars to study hard and to serve local and international society with their knowledge. Seven scholars shared their university lives and plans for the future with the distinguished guests. They also exchanged ideas with the guests and benefited greatly from the roundtable discussion.
In 2015, the Foundation established “The D. H. Chen Foundation Scholarship” which annually awards around twenty outstanding undergraduate students from various local universities, offering tuition fees, and living and overseas exchange subsidies. The scholars are also offered a wide range of activities, including social services, mentorship programmes, annual reception and roundtable meetings, in a bid to broaden their global horizons and inspire them to drive community and social development.
