Shaw Col lege The L a b o u r and L i b e r t y o f Yo u t h I n 1 9 8 6, Shaw College, t he y ounge st of t he four constituent colleges of The Chinese University, was f o u n d ed w i t h a gene r ous d o n a t i on f r om Sir Run Run Shaw; it was officially incorporated in the same year. Shaw admi t t ed its first batch of over 600 students in 1986; 370 of these we re freshman a nd t he rest we re Year 2 a nd Year 3 transferees f r om the other three colleges of the University. Today the college has an en r o lment of over 2 , 500 . Shaw College turns 20 in 2006: it may not have c ome a l ong w a y but t he sailing has nonetheless been eventful. Seal carving: Tong Kam Tang
