40 香港中文大學年報 CUHK Annual Report 2017–2018 守護眼睛健康 眼科及視覺科學學系獲香港賽馬會慈善信託 基金慷慨捐出近七千八百萬港元，資助「中大 賽馬會瞳心護眼計劃」及「中大賽馬會眼科 顯微手術培訓計劃」，推廣兒童眼部保健。 獲四千四百萬港元捐款的瞳心護眼計劃，將 向三萬名六至八歲兒童提供免費的綜合眼 部檢查。眼科顯微手術培訓計劃則獲超過三 千三百萬港元贊助，為超過一百名眼科醫生 及醫護人員提供手術訓練。該兩項計劃皆於 2018年1月開始實施。 奉揚仁風 Serving with Compassion 大學員生身體力行，實踐中大藉知識回饋社會的宗旨。 Our staff and students espouse the University’s mission to serve the community, a fact that has once again been borne out by the activities below. Championing Eye Health The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences was granted a donation of around HK$78 million by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust for the establishment of two ophthalmology programmes to promote eye health among children. The CUHK Jockey Club Children’s Eye Care Programme, with a funding of HK$44 million, aims to provide free comprehensive eye examination to 30,000 children at ages 6 to 8. The CUHK Jockey Club Ophthalmic Microsurgical Training Programme provided eye surgery training to more than 100 ophthalmologists and eye care professionals, thanks to a sponsorship of over HK$33 million from the Trust. Both programmes started operation in January 2018.
